Alright, here's the first page done in my new style.
I spent an ASSLOAD of time on this, you wouldn't believe it. The lineart is what took forever, though. Toning was nothing compared to that.

So. It still looks like crap to me, even though I put forth all the effort I could muster.
Any suggestions?

Oh, yeah, I dropped the weird speech bubbles. They were annoying to make, and really... what do they contribute besides wasting another twenty minutes of my life? That's right.
NOTHING.

Ooooh, yeah.
I also dropped the two-toned red idea for one reason alone...
I think it would be far too irritating to most people. In all honesty, it would drive me batshit if I had to look at nothing but red and white for the duration of the 4 hours it takes me to draw a page.

	Ahh, you stole my secret favorite style to draw in: Greyscale with important objects in color! Good job. I approve. A small critique, and I noticed this because I have problems with it too... I would like to see more dynamic angles and poses. 	Yes I am stalking you LZ The colouring is nice. And like with most manga artists, anatomy could be worked on, but with your style, little to no work would be fine, it's pretty good the way it is. Just my opinion anyway. posted by BNT on 02 Sep 2008 08:30 pm
